
Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced and analytical FP&A Manager to support financial planning, analysis, and decision-making for the company. This role will focus on developing financial models, preparing detailed reports, and providing key insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in financial modeling and reporting, especially in a publicly traded company environment, and will be able to communicate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Key Responsibilities)
- Financial Modeling & Reporting: Develop, maintain, and improve financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Create comprehensive reports to track performance and highlight key business trends.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts. Work with cross-functional teams to align financial projections with business objectives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods. Provide insights into significant variances and recommend corrective actions to management.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors. Ensure alignment with SEC reporting requirements for a publicly traded company, including necessary compliance and transparency.
- Performance Metrics & KPIs: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support the identification of areas for improvement.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and decision support as needed, especially around capital allocation, industry benchmarking, and other initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance forecasting accuracy.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, financial modeling, and reporting, preferably within a publicly traded company or restaurant industry.
- Proven experience in building complex financial models and handling large data sets.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and key metrics specific to the restaurant industry.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Skills & Abilities:
- Expert proficiency in financial modeling and Excel, with experience using advanced functions (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
- Strong experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, and business performance reviews.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear, concise manner to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience with Workday ERP system, Adaptive Insights, and Essbase.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC regulations for publicly traded companies.
- Experience with restaurant financial metrics such as same-store sales, cost of goods sold, labor cost, and other restaurant-specific KPIs.
