Job Description

This position is responsible for the implementation and the execution of the Marketing Strategy for approximately 300+ Denny's restaurants. This position is accountable for executing the plan to achieve the Division's Sales and Traffic goals. This is a field based position covering the west coast region and can be based in a major west coast city.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Provides clear communication of national marketing programs and local marketing initiatives to company operators and franchisees

  • Implements and executes extensions of national programs for seamless Divisional implementation

  • Implements and executes advertising and promotional ideas to solve local problems and leverage local opportunities

  • Manages the execution and follow through of all local media plans.

  • Coordinates test market implementation, monitors results and provides feedback to Supervisor

  • Takes off the shelf Field Marketing Programs, developed by Sr. Field Marketing Managers and implements, executes  area wide Local Store Marketing programs. Works with Finance to develop analysis of LSM programs

  • Aggregates competitive intelligence.

  • Works with Sr. Manager of Field Marketing to develop Co-op media plans and manages Co-op budgets

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field

  • 4 - 7 years of field marketing experience in restaurant or retail industry at the corporate or agency level

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to make effective presentations to solicit cooperation and support

  • Computer skills including Powerpoint, Excel and Word

  • Sound strategic and critical thinking

  • Ability to understand data to formulate recommendations to achieve goals

  • Ability to work with Media Buying Agency and learn the Media Buying Process

  • Ability to meet typical overnight travel requirement of 30-40%, dependent upon home office location, or maximum total travel up to 50% inclusive of day and overnight trips
